Privacy Policy

Account information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, and (for merchants) business details.

Order and transaction information, including items purchased, shipping addresses, and order history. Payment card details are processed and stored by our payment provider (Stripe), not by ShareSteak.

Merchant verification information, which may include identity documents, business licences, and financial verification data processed through third parties such as Plaid.

Usage and device information collected automatically, such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed.

To create and manage your account, process orders and payments, and operate group purchases.

To verify merchants and maintain the safety and integrity of the marketplace.

To send transactional messages (order updates, group-purchase alerts) and, where you have opted in, promotional communications.

To improve the Platform, provide support, and comply with legal obligations.

We share information with service providers who help us operate the Platform, including payment processing (Stripe), identity and financial verification (e.g. Plaid), email delivery, and hosting (Supabase).

Buyers and merchants share limited information necessary to fulfil orders (for example, a shipping address is shared with the relevant merchant).

We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of ShareSteak and its users. We do not sell your personal information.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage much of your information from your account settings, or contact us to exercise these rights.

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

ShareSteak is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform, and the “last updated” date above will reflect the most recent revision.
